probably... but why was there a need for such a backstory. In the years before episode one nobody asked "but what was his story, what was his motivation?". Nobody cared. Sometimes it is better not to know everything. I didnt want to know what the force exists because of tiny lifeforms inside the body and everywhere. The explanation ruined the idea of the force and Anakin Skywalkers story ruined Darth Vader. Meanwhile I have to see Vader as the teenager that never met is father and ran into psychological problems... but not as the dark Lord he used to be in the original movies.
well they did do a dark lord with teenagey angst. Kylo Ren. But since Lucas started with Episode 4, it makes you wonder "what happened to Episode 1, 2 and 3?"
and you have the choice to ignore and deny midi-clorians like I do. Voila, the story is that much better. I think it's wrong to say a whole story was ruined by one detail that had little thought put into it. There's a lot to Vader's character development than just he had a high midi-clorian count. He fell in love with a senator. If anything, the story of Anakin Skywalker should be taken as a precautionary tale: Don't knock up a Galactic Senator when youre a magical space wizard

it's wrong to judge a whole story based on one shitty character
