Ok many of you probably know about me not being a "fan" of
Freelancer Explorer. But here If something doesnt work, because you SHOULD have backed it up (when
I told you) then you should be safe. If it fails... tough luck, youll
most likely have to try again. Its annoying I know, but there is no other
way. Sometimes Freelancer just wont let you do something. You can try
for ever but but it just wont. You can always try and post on Lancers Reactor
forums, but I doubt many ppl can come up with an anser. In short if it fails, try it again. If it fails again, try something else.... Here are some links that may be useful. Please Make Sure You Have A Copy Of All These. Feel free to contact me at darky@xmsg.com. Now on with the tutorial. --------Stage One--------
It will ask you "Do you want to use and exsisting mod?" Choose yes. Make a Few folder called TUTORIAL SYSTEM, and youse that new folder to make the mod. Just copy the basic lay out of the basic planets. And look at the notes to get the type of planet/sun they are. To change the colours, on the system properties, just click on the squares. |

Ok with that done its time to move onto the connecting the system.
***IMPORTANT NOTE : ALWAYS TEST AFTER THIS STEP** It is important to test every 2-3 steps, and to save after every successful step. Esp major changes, planets, suns, particularily fields etc.

If it asks you to choose your .dll click the little x on the top right to close it. It is not important as we will attend to that later. Then just go to file->applychanges/update mod. Now it is time to test. Move the new system into modmanger (if not already there). No start up modmanager, activate the mod.... --------Stage Two-------- NO DONT START FREELANCER!!! Start FLServer.exe (Inside the Freelancer/Exe Directory) Then at the main menu go to Multiplayer Games, and select your server. Make a character like you would online. Then just test :) Why? Because a system could work wonders inside SP, but not MP. The rule of the thumb : if it works in MP, itll work in SP. Not just test the jumphole. Id make a new MPcharacter on your server and use the ioncross server operator mk III to 'beam' yourself to Tau 23, Java Station. The jumphole should be outside... if you copied my jumpholes correctly.
On to page two!......... |
