Download the 1.55 FULL Install

Reactivate the expansion in FLMM

1.56 Patching Instructions (READ CAREFULLY) 

Deactivate Freelancer: The Next Generation vs 1.55 in FLMM 1.2
Download the 1.56 Patch
Unzip the patch
Go into the patch directory and select all files, ctrl-a
Now copy the files, ctrl-c
Now go into flmm directory usually c:\flmm\mods\Tng155full
Paste the files into the TNG155 directory, ctrl-v
Click yes to overwrite
In FLMM you should see version 1.56
Reactivate the expansion in FLMM
When you run the game it should say 1.56

IF YOU ARE CRASHING AND SUCH WHEN PLAYING:

Make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements.
Make sure you are using the most recent version
Deactiviate and then reactivate the mod
Make sure your freelancer directory is not read only
Last Resort - Delete, NOT uninstall, your FL directory and then reinstall.  Then reapply TNG
Last Resort - Delete all files in your mp account and sp save-game folder 
(old mp accounts / savegames that were created with an earlier version WILL crash your computer)

SERVER ADMINS:

If people complain of crashes, ask what version they created their character in.  If earlier have them create a new
character, as explained above, old chracters / save-games WILL crash your server.

For 1.55 I recommend a last p-wipe, future versions SHOULD be compatible with these new characters
Also make sure you if you are HOSTING, delete / move all your sp save-games.

REMEMBER: People equipped with a hull upgrade who use nanobots when they die WILL crash the server every time.

If a base is destroyed with a player in it, the server will crash.
Freelancer bypasses all level and factions restrictions on ships...there is no fix, yet.
When equiping a hull upgrade using nanobots when you lose all your hull will result in a server crash

In order to preserve the integrity of the game we have installed the latest in anti-cheat software.
We have also added the 1.1 server patch.  So far this expansion includes Lancer Guard, plus other
methods used to discourage cheating and hacking.

We have eliminated the frustrating "undefined class" problem and you will now find if you attempt to "swap" 
out equipment that is not suppose to be on that ship it will not work.

Example: The shadow beams are a powerful weapon.  If unequipped they ARE NOT re-equipable. You have been warned.

Example: The battleship shields & turrets.  If unequipped they ARE NOT re-equipable. You have been warned.

Example: Trying to use an engine upgrade on a capital ship will severly screw it up.

There are other methods we have used which include ship crashing and logging.  DO NOT TRY AND CHEAT!!

If you cheat and screw up the game do not come to us with a "bug" report as it is running as intended!

Station, tradelane, and docking ring turrets now do decent damage!  Think twice before engaging them.

Trade routes have been changed significantly and new ones have been created, profits will not be easy to come by and the

Due to the max exploitation of capital ships we have taken measures to stop this.  Before, capital
ships could dock at any station. NOW battleships and cruisers may ONLY dock at large stations, small stations, 
and planets.  You may NOT dock at, depos, outposts, or border stations.  Gunboats are small enough to where
they are allowed to dock anywhere.

With this new change largestations and small stations have had their docking procedures completely re-worked.
They have limited docking points and new camera animations.

The ringworld is now in place and is the primary source of finding all the original FL ships.

There are now starter trade routes in the nexus between the different factions

Sadly one of the major bugs from the original freelancer has hurt this idea severly.  The current freelancer
will BYPASS any level / faction restriction put on the ships during MP.  They work in sp but not in MP.
We know of no fix for this, so if you can find one please let us know.  We are sorry about this.

As part as our "Identity" process we have begun taking steps to let players "choose" what side they want to play.
This has started in the nexus and will expand as time goes on.  Right now there are "profession" types ships and missions
as well as ships.  We will also be adding profession type weapons in the future.

Please note the equipment, and commodities on the new bases are aligned with the faction. So if you are not in 
good standing you will not be able to buy stuff from that base. The new ships are the top of the line and go head to
head with the best fighters and freighters available.  Also these factions have been changed in the following ways.

We have also made it to where you can only buy commodities and equipment from stations that you are friendly with.

You can choose to become aligned with the nexus base's by talking to the bartender in the bar.

You start out nuetral so that you can pick what class you want to be.

Pirates - Aligned with Xenos (Good to all pirates, bad to rest)

Gargoyle - Medium Fighter

THE NEXUS SYSTEM

Main systems will now have a black hole in them which lead to the "nexus".  This new system has several features 
that will interest everyone.  The station there is the ONLY place you are able to purchase certain items in the game, 
a list is below.  This system is split into 4 factions, Zoners, Pirate, Bounty Hunter, and Universal Shipping

The nexus has now become a warzone of opposing factions.  Massive fleets patrol throughout the system and will attack
enemies on sight so be careful!!  Engaging these fleet solo, even in a battleship is suicide, best to take a group.

It's main feature is the HyperGateway Network.  This area contains a hypergate to each of the main systems.

Each ship is very unique and has it's own advantages annd disadvantages.

With regards to the new capital ships shields, they now have wing-commander type physics.

Battleships shield absorb 90% damage
Cruisers shield absorb 75% damage
Gunboats shield absorb 50% damage

The only weapons which will effect these shields are the following:

Anti-matter (50%) - equal shield and hull dmg
Ion Cannons (100%) - shield dmg only

Starfurys (75%) (drop only) (rare)
Hellfires (75%) (drop only) (rare)
House Weapons (100%) (drop only) (very rare)

Cruiser, battleships & station turrets count as Ion type for full damage
Shadow beams, star beams, and missiles also have full effects on these shields

    appropriate equipment will be used on the correct ships Safe measures have been put into place so that

Problems running this expansion?


1: Download the latest version.


2: Delete the old version from FLMM BEFORE you download the new version and install.


3: If game crashes on startup

	a. Delete autosave.fl in your game save

	b. Delete ALL the save games including restart.fl

	c. Make sure you are NOT running any other mods

	d. You uninstalled the expansion, but tried running your savegames with the original game.  When you have 
	   savegames that has stuff from any mod and you do not have that mod running it can't find the variables 
	   at the loadup of the game and crashes.  Delete all the modded save-games.


4: Corrupt download

	a. You downloaded when I was uploading, try again

	b. You didn't delete the old version before downloading and tried to update to the new one

	c. Make sure you have the latest version of FLMM 1.2

	d. You downloaded it somewhere else beside the official server (offical is an ebiia adress or planetirg)

	e. My server - http://ebiia.swishmail.com/fldownload/Tng154full.zip.flmod

	f. You tried to unzip the expnsion and install it into the mod folder.  DO NOT do this.  
	   All you need to do is download and click open, OR download and save, then double click and
	   it will autoinstall to FLMM.

	h. Download the RAR version, un-rar, then manually copy the files into the /FLMM/mods/Tng154full directory


5: FLMM problems

	a. Error: problem activating 'Freelancer: The Next Generation 1.54'
	   Error: SHCopyFile failed ('C:\Program Files\Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Tng154full\exe\"name".dll'
	   to 'Game\DIR\freelanceserver\exe\equipresources.dll')

	   Please make sure the entire EXE folder and files are writeable and NOT readonly
	   Also make sure the game isn't running!  Can't overwrite files that are in use!


6: No effect or errors on multiplayer

	a. Delete all versions of the expanion.  Restore Backups.  Reinstall FLMM.  Then download and install latest 	   		   version of the expansion.   Make sure you start FL Server WITH FLMM.  If you don't start it with flmm you
	   won't see the changes for some reason.

	b. You tried to unzip and install it into the mod folder.  DO NOT do this unless using the rar version.
	   All you need to do is download and click open, OR download and save, then double click the .zip.flmod and
	   it will autoinstall to FLMM.

	c. Please make sure the entire Freelancer folder and files are writeable and NOT readonly.  If they are readonly
	   the mod will not overwrite the files and you will not see any changes.

	D. Look in the FL dir after activating the mod and see if you see .flback files.  FLMM makes backup files
	   when it activates the mod.  If you do not see these backup files then the files were not overwritten.


7: General errors

	a. You tried to manually install the mod by overwriting the original FL files (use FLMM, unless using RAR)

	b. You tried tried to manually install all the mods to the same folder (use FLMM)

	c. You manually overwrote your freelancer files with the mod and didn't make a backup (Reinstall FL)

	d. You tried doing something you weren't suppose to like modifying the files (Restore original mod)

	e. You didn't install the mod correctly (Install it correctly)

	f. You discovered a bug! (Please report it.)


8: Cargo & Tractor problems

	a. Make sure your hold isn't full

	b. When buying ships sell the old equipment, left over equipment takes up cargo space

	c. You cannot tractor nanobots & shield batteries if you are already at your maximum

	d. Report it and include what ship you were using, where you were, and what you were trying to tractor


9: REPORT THE BUGS  I can't fix what I don't know about. Email me, or report it on the thread in lancer forum.


Also inlcuded latest version of FL Admin for easy restart of your server if it crashes.  To use this tool unzip
and read the readme.  If you don't want to read then simply start your server then start this.  It restarts your
server if it crashes.
