				Who turned the Lights out?
				__________________________

This mod turns off all the ship board headlights , dockingLights, runing lights and space station lights in Freelancer. Whats the point in that??? Well, I play freelancer using a pair of edimensional 3d glasses and the glow from these lights appears on the screen positioned directly on the screen and not on the ship (those who have seen freelancer in 3d will know what i mean) . This is very confusing and if the lights displayed are large enough makes it hard to focus on the action. So this mod simply turns off all the lights, both on the piloted ships and on all the other objects.

To Install
__________

I developed this mod Using Freelancer ModManger 1.2 Beta, it should also work with v 1.1.

Single Player / Multi Player stuff

This mod does not change gameplay and was tested on single player and Multi player. I think as this mod just effects how the ships appear on the screen this mod needs only to be installed on the players machine. I have not tried installing on a server. Unmodded Saved games will work with this mod installed, though if you want to do this you're ging to have to copy them from wherever FLMM saved them.

Other Mods
__________

Ships installed with other mods may still appear with lights on, though they will probably appear smaller in size (see To Turn off lights on a non standard ship section below for instructions to turn other mod ships lights out).

Hows it done?
_____________

First thing this mode has does is turn off all the glows araound the lights, by changing the DATA/EQUIPMENT/light_equip.ini. I initially thought this would solve the whole problem but, the lights are still there although alot smaller. This results in the lights on all objects are now much smaller, and for most purposes appear off on all space stations, trade lanes etc, althogh are still noticeable on the player ships (the ship are alot closer after all).

The second step is to remove all the lights from all the payer ships by changing the ships .cmp file and removing all the light hard points.

To Turn off lights on a non standard (mod) ship
________________________________________________

If you want to turn off lights on a mod ship, then its really easy to do.

Step 1.
Backup the files youre going to be changing.

Step 2.
Edit the file with the freelancer UTF editor (http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/editing/download/download.asp?id=202)

Open up the ships .cmp file (usually found somewhere in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\SHIPS\... )

Open up all the nodes and look for Fixed nodes which are called HpHeadlight ,HpRunningLight##,HpDockingLight## and delete them.

Save the edited file as the same filename.
