How to start, ... well, as first can come some small comparison (if that's possible) between CF and ED. Both these games are about "walking" in space, in both you can play a role, and both games have big addicting potential. But with this may common points end, because ED is in many regards very different (not mentioning graphic, but these games engines have a huge difference in theirs "age"). ED space is much emptier, deeper, bigger and can be seen also as much more ruthless and/or much more "realistic". With this is coming scanty info about game mechanisms, which is only very lightly touched in in-game training missions or manual (rather call it Quick-start guide
). If you want learn more about the game and/or do less bigger mistakes, you have 3 most common ways:
- Try yourself again and again with usually big amount of mistakes or/and frustration.
- Search over forums ... google is a big friend here. Luckily this game is already some months out, and you can find many very usually informations included nicely made video-guides.
- Learn how to communicate in game and find some new friends. With only one experienced friend your learning will go exponentially faster.
ED space will do not explain to you how you should play, will not keep you for your hand while you will be searching for your target, or guide you how to gather some decent moneys, ... and will punish you hard, for every mistake you will do (not counted possible encounters with players "killers", which can attack you anytime and anywhere IF will be able find you, simply bcs they like to do so). "What the???" you may think now ... but this, exactly this, can be one from the strongest or weakest "features" for this game. Some may at this point easily fully dislike, or completely fall addicted for play in ED. This game can offer alot fun, beautiful views, nice talks with completely unknown players, ... but you can also quickly lose "alot" hard earned moneys, if you do some wrong choices/decisions, or simply when you will have a bad luck (you know what the Murphy_Law is? ... if no, you can learn this quickly in ED
).
