Great idea Canoso, anything to get this mod out to the masses asap m8. ive just registered on LR forum too so ill post asap. ill even donate if it helps speed things along

I sent an e-mail to BP on this same topic, asking if there was a threshold amount of monetary contribution that would expedite the hosting of the mod on LR, but of course, I have no response yet... [2]

I posted a message in an attempt to convey the urgency of the situation to FinalDay. I don't think he wants to be held responsible for the consequences if he can't upload the new mod in a timely manner.

not getting desperate m8, as a tester i have the mod. i'm just anxious that everyone else get it to asap, so we can all get back online and have fun. the sooner the better. this is a great community on CF and we all deserve to be playing it. the ball is in LR's court and anything i can do to get things moving for everyone else the better.

Um. Will these approaches to LR makes things go faster or slower?

Am I being paranoid or does the time it has taken already indicates an attitude of " i will do this when im good and ready".

I think we being put in our place by a person at LR who was annoyed by our first asking when the Mod would be posted.

I think the more we ask the slower this person will go.

OFFERING MONEY?

Giving money after someone has been helpful, as a way of saying thanks, is a lot different than giving money before to speed the process.

I will never give before, too much like bribery or blackmail.

I would have been happy to give after, but wont now, as I think someone at LR is being deliberately slow.

and they didnt get a penny for last 1 month for the new server (as far i can see, the blue line movement is ZERO)

I am cracking up - have flown anything for months and months (it feels like) - and all I have been doing is killing Orcs and stuff.

By the time its posted on LR I would have forgetten how to play (not that I did know how anyway) and forgotten who everybody is. I will have to cm on and ask all those new player questions like

1. Where is X303?
2. How do you make money?
3. Where are the Uber weapons?
4. Is there any new missions?

Cmon everybody - lets start a list for all those players like me who have forgotten all about Crossfire and need some guidance when it is back!

Not seen any evidence to suggest LR are delib being slow. I suppose like many people there is a lot of work to do and not enough people to do it. Also I read somewhere one of their key people is away.

Also, OP has posted somewhere on SWAT that he would pay some monies towards LR for new server. They prob have a backlog and need to catch up - maybe these sort of sites always have a backlog?

And all computer illiterate ppl still have cd roms in thier machines coz the have no idea how to use anything more technical! my machine is nearly 4 years old and i have never updated any part of it. why? no need too, no idea how to and no intention of!!

lets hope it is just a backlog at LR thats the problem. i'm not suggesting any paranoia here, its just that it does seem LR has been "falling behind" recently.

well - i didnt say i would donate money for the new LR server
i said that i did donate money for the server already so a part of the blue bar is a SWAT donation

but like privy wrote on a pm 2 days ago "LR is dying"
not because of a crappy server.... not because FL is dying... i think its dying because of 0 development and 0 interest to change anything there

im not saying this here because ppl from LR wont read it here... lol im the guy who is posting most critics about LR on the LR forum and ive also said this openly to bp

LR has such a huge staff... such high resources... and is known by so many ppl
but besides the downloads there is almost 0 action there
no real discussions on the forums
there are not many posts about mod development anymore
no new ideas... nothing
basicly you can say that LR has about 32000 registered members and dunno how many unregistered visitors... but they have less posts/activity on their forum than the SWAT Portal with its 3000 registered members

and for this there has to be a reason... and i see the reason in a wrong forum policy (i already was able to change this "no gravedigging"-behaviour of the moderators) and in inconsequent administration which did lead to 0 development (where i simply have to say that bp did a great job all the time but he cant do everything alone... and now that he is gone you see the results)

Well, sorry for being blunt, but as you seem not to happy about LR yourself, why still choose it as the sole place for CF to be downloadable. Don't get me wrong, I'm not critisizing you, but I just can't seem to get my head around it and somehow, it just doesn't make all to much sense to me. But that could be me

there is only this place
there is only this chance to have the downloads counted.... and being reviewed... there is only this single place where a mod can be made popular

Well, there you got a point and I'm going to say something which has been said to you a dozen time, but I can't go around it. If you still don't like the plan, just say so...or don't say anything I/we will get the picture.

So, why not have some mirrors? It can still get reviewed at LR and are download counts really that important? The new player you see on the server all the time should give a good idea too. Also, if they are important, you could, like inferno said in another thread, delete it once LR gets it up. The dl link should only be availible on this forum, so the download count won't get off that much as you could just add the amount of forum members to the new download count or something like that.
