As many fans know, BioWare and Electronic Arts have halted all future content updates for Mass Effect: Andromeda, a shame as vast as the Andromeda galaxy. With the proper assortment of patches and tweaks, the game’s bug-filled launch could have been redeemed, or at least improved to a certain degree. As it stands, multiple nagging issues remain in the game with no promise of being fixed. Fortunately, a modder has assembled a Mass Effect: Andromeda Fixpack mod to address many of these unresolved issues.

    Andromeda Fixpack Mod

A modder with the handle ‘NightWolf2503′ has created quite the comprehensive list of fixes for Mass Effect: Andromeda. Having already addressed problems such as looping quest prompts, clipping characters, and mismatched crafting blueprints, version 1.03 aims to hammer out a few more rough edges in the game.

In the new Andromeda Fixpack update, a few awkward Ryder conversations have been fixed, several Turians have swapped genders to match their voice, and a number of quest objectives have also been repaired. All the latest changes can be viewed in the patch notes below. For further information about the mod and where to download, visit this link here.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Fixpack 1.03 Patch Notes

    Actors:

    • Changed gender of multiple turians at the Paradise, on Elaaden, to match their voice sets.
    • Changed gender of multiple krogan in New Tuchanka to match their voice sets.
    • Tech Danny Messier will now actually leave the outpost on Eos.
    • Prevented enemies at the kett outposts on Voeld and Eos from respawning once the outpost has been cleared.

    Codex and Journal:

    • Added missing picture to the journal entry for “Save Dr. Okeer’s Krogan Research”.

    Conversations and Cutscenes:

    • During “Investigate Remnant Derelict”, the door to the drive core is now open during the cutscene discussing the theft.
    • Fixed Ryder’s neck getting twisted in conversations with Jaal at the Cultural Center and the Ancient AI in SAM Node.
    • Addison now looks at Ryder during the conversation when establishing an outpost on Kadara.

    Crafting:

    • Fixed the shell filaments required to craft the tier 10 Isharay.
    • Fixed the Pathfinder Ranger being craftable with an automatic fire type augment instead of single fire type.

    Game mechanics:

    • Fixed Tempest store restocking to tier 1 gear when loading a save in the research room.

    Quests:

    • Task: Gone Dark; angaran bugs inside kett camps on Voeld are now always scannable. (May not work if the quest was already started.)
    • Task: Cold Hard Cache; prevented the objectives “Defeat the outlaws” and “Prevent the shuttle from leaving Kadara” from being triggered too early, which caused the objective “Travel to the navpoint” to get stuck in the journal.

    Skills and Profiles:

    • Fixed red outline on enemies from the infiltrator perk remaining permanent if they are killed while it is active.

    World Objects:

    • During “Task: Cold Hard Cache”, there will be no invisible leftovers of the shuttle after it was destroyed.
    • Fixed remnant container during “Task: Cache Flow” having both the interface and loot option enabled by default.
    • Fixed the doors to Peebee’s and Jien Garson’s apartments not getting locked again post mission completion.

While the franchise is essentially in dark space for the foreseeable future, Mass Effect still has a few other projects to keep the fandom enkindled for the time being. Happy readers can check out the new novel headed to print, which expands on where the Quarians, Drell, and Elcor were during Andromeda. There’s also some accidental N7 shoes by Nike and a hilarious breakfast cereal if fans find themselves hungry for more.

What do you think? Are you happy seeing the Mass Effect: Andromeda Fixpack pick up where BioWare left off, or should the developers have fixed the game before completely abandoning it?
