Is there a possibility to run FXAA or other Shaders?

    Shader selection menu without reason?


    Was looking at Crossfire again and thought how much better the game might look with Shader...I tried to activate multiple shaders, none of 'em worked except Vanilla and No Selection.
    Also you can see several topics, under the Technical Problems, where you can see many people having problems with the installation.Many solutions where disabling the shaders.
    Jus' questioning is there a way to run it? Won't it ever work? or is it going to be updated?...
    I kinda created this topic 'cause this are questions I think everyone got {especially me     :D } and maybe some new people might see their problem here.

    Thank you for the answers that could shed light on the matter... or is there already a topic that talks about that problem?

    The problem so far for me was that I could not reproduce the problems.
    I meanwhile think that I can simulate the problems other users experience and try to work on different settings which would work more reliable.
    I cant promise anything but i am working on it.

    just a small update on this issue
    the problems with the shaders started about 1 year ago with nvidea updates
    I am not sure if AMD cards have problems with the shaders. I know that my old r9 card didnt have any issues with the latest drivers.


    I have a running test environment meanwhile so I can try a bunch of changes to the settings.
    So far I didnt have much luck since I ran into another compatibilty issue with a directx interface.


    I will continue tests on a vanilla FL installation this weekend to exclude error sources related to different shader versions.

    one more update on this issue
    Ive spent the past hours trying to figure out where the shader stuff broke.


    I can not tell if AMD graphic cards are affected at all (I got rid of mine a few months ago).
    But i can tell that shaders broke due to nvidia drivers which were adapted to the latest dx11 optimizations that were done on windows 8/10.
    I am not sure if Windows 7 is affected aswell (I can not test that) but I assume that the shaders work fine on windows 7.


    Well, I did tests on vanilla FL and managed to create a workaround for the latest sweetfx version.
    Since I didnt use the CF settings during my tests I will have to do adjustments but thats no big deal.
    So yeah... I got sweetfx working in an environment which previously was broken.


    However, I will not instantly release a patch.
    I know that the workaround is working on my PC for the latest driver generation of Nvidia cards.
    Before I release a patch I want to know if it also runs for other cards, escpecially AMD ones.


    I need test subjects which do such tests for me.
    I would provide all files required and instructions in order to tests in a clean vanilla FL environment. (no you dont have to delete FL or savegames)
    If these tests are successful I can work on a patch to get at least the sweetfx shader working again on all PCs.



    ENB and Reshade are a different topic. Here I dont have a working solution yet. But Im working on it.

    I have an AMD Radeon R2 200 Series Graphics card and I am Willing to test the Patch, this card Will Not Accept any Shaders!


    Btw :) The Card is Doing a Great job with No Shaders

    Im going to release an update next weekend which should fix sweetfx for all players.
    By then I also should be able to get some of the other shaders updated.

    sweetfx nor fxaa will load. I get this codeo. do I need to change other setting in this card GeForce GTX1070 ASUS (8 gb. )

    dunno, i have a gtx 1080 which does work with these options
    the difference between these cards is minimal


    you can try to delete the dxgi.dll and see if the singleplayer is working (without patching the game)




    was it working before the last patch?

    I have an R9 290 and I have 0 problems with the shaders, I'm even using a way older driver version right now but I had no problems even with the newest ones.
