  • My First question about "updates or updating" is:

is it ok to close the launcher whilst it is in the middle of updating?

    2nd question is:

what is the Multiplayer feature for this mod? is it an "Open universe"?

    or.....

Is it an instance type where we get into a lobby and wait for a match or something?

    That's all!!!

    Thanks in advance!!!

  • Hello, Welcome! To your first question, it is never a good idea to stop the launcher from updating. Let it complete and then shut down if need to. The MP portion is a Role Playing universe based around the FL story-line after the conclusion of "The Final Stand". It is recommended you play the Single Player version first as that will introduce you to the characters, factions and take you through the entire universe that is Crossfire. This will allow you to get up to speed faster when you start playing the Multiplayer version. In MP version, you open the launcher, select the MP version, wait for the updates to complete and the first time you do this after install there will be a lot of them to complete. Let it finish. Once that is done the game will start and once you step through the beginning portion you will be presented your account number (make a note of it right then) and then enter your first character name and follow the prompts. You will be issued your first ship and 150,000 to outfit it and get started playing the game. There is no "lobby" or "waiting for a match". This website has a great number of articles, pictures and how-to's in the various forums and Wiki sections, and FAQ's to help you get started, not to mention the many players that are both in game and online to answer questions or point you in the right direction. Enjoy!
