Need some help installing

    I'm getting an error code (E00000046) when trying to play.


    My install steps:

    • Clean install of Freelancer and FLMM
    • Freshly downloaded CF installer
    • Vanilla Freelancer installed to C://Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer
    • FLMM installed to F://Program Files(x86)/Freelancer Mod Manager
    • Full permissions for all users set on the Freelancer folder


    Vanilla FL runs just fine, I'm just having trouble with CF. The launcher was able to update itself successfully.

    Looks like it's a copy issue - I have no idea why it's doing this because I set the permissions correctly and ran the launcher as admin

    I think the installer still has some problems with the permissions, even though you ran it with admin rights, no idea why...


    I tried to install FLMM, Freelancer and Crossfire mod on the same hard drive, and created a folder name FL in the root of my drive, and installed the stuff there...no problems so far, you might try it :)

    Edit: If i remember correctly, you may want to try to mess with the shader options a bit, try launhing with the default (vanilla fx) shader first

    With a lot of help from Exxorush, I finally got it working.


    What I did:

    • Set an exclusion in my antivirus for the FL folder
    • Set compatibility mode of Freelancer.exe to windows 8

    At this point, I was getting CODE0 errors, so I turned off all shaders and the game ran.


    Now only if there were a way to get SMAA working...

    For future references:


    You may not want to use SMAA, but use SWEET FX instead :)


    That way the game looks also nice, but dont worry, you may wont see the intro movies, only hear them, but its not a big deal, press escape a few times, my game works this way :)


    PS: I need to reinstall Crossfire again, tried out Nightstalker's mod, its very good, the problem is, there are not many players around, so I am coming back :)
