diamagnetic
paramagnetic
ferromagnetic

Diamagnetic objects, ie, which magnetize in the opposite direction of the magnetic field in which they are placed. Levitation can be obtained when the magnetic force that applies to the diamagnetic object exactly compensates for the weight of the latter. In the absence of a magnetic field, the molecules do not all have permanent dipoles (ex: O2, N2 ...). On the other hand, a dipole forms in the presence of a field, it is an induced dipole that disappears with the field that gave it birth.
