  • Bomber have small guns firepower, limited ammo and torpedoes usage in big operation is very risky. Splash damage can quite easily kill few our ship in second.

  • recently i made PVP with |DP|Destructer-Bomber, he in Blackburn bomber and me in VHF. in approximately 90% of all fights he blew himself up with his torps. unfortunately this Blackburn is more dangerous for its pilots than any opponent :(

  • the blackburn bombers is a wasted clan ship. with only being used to test it like other ships. i don,t know to many players that have one, and if they have sold it again.
    realizing it is a bomber however, it might be used more if 2 of the torpedoe mounts were changed to level 10 gun mounts. maybe the clan fighter had one more gun mounted on it. :)

    Yes, it is a little bit boring when you are green with Dom's, but on the other hand it is less frustrative when you fly with train in IC :-)

  • ok, i already collected the stuff we need for the very first module. |DP|base-builder is waiting for the event (in Omega 3 at GMG station). on server i was just asked, what is needed for the next module. so here is my old favourite table from our clan base progress (well, not really famous since it was used only in DP-forum):

  • I expect much higher amounts of commodities and maybe different commodities, as Huor was planning a new plugin (why make a new plugin if it's the same :huh: )
    Allright, it could be about different modules, but I am allways surprised when new 'stuff' is introduced :)
    I guess we will know when the build is started.

    we already tested a second plugin but it resulted in various other problems. this here is the last message from Huor about it (link):

  • So far i dont get the new plugin really running. If its no hurdle you can create a clan base there in this system, until i get the plugin running. It seems to be a bit more complicated than initially assumed from me.

    Small opinion of me thinking during the event.
    -more than half of the participants were missing
    -TRAIN? .... some player had to change Char to help us !!!
    -number of carrier, ub 3 ????,?
    - departure 21h15 (and not as usual 20h45) we started around 22h30
    Average organization


    In summary I am disappointed, I who thought to start at 21:15 with full of carrier (at the base the carrier was majority (6), the had one
    (Apart from some cases such as RDV or Lord which are justified).
    It's like finding a battleship (knowing that destructor has to leave early and also) and a train (some freighter)

  • i know very well, how u feel. u organized an event that should bring joy and fun for many players and then some things go wrong. u have a plan, but the universe laughs and has another plan for u :) but hey, i was disappointed more about myself, my failure, u know what i mean. but meanwhile i can laugh because we will just make a good story from that :D (coming soon).


    one thing that always makes me crazy in events is when too many players spam the chat with talkings not belonging to the event. but hey, even this belongs to the event, because we are social beings and most of the non topic talkings are funny. but it makes it hard to keep control, indeed.


    u have to analyze what exactly went wrong and try to make it better next time.


    one thing i missed this time was an introducing story (right, Ajay had a story, he always has good stories) in which the strategy was drawn about how we go to Jormdar. since nobody really discussed about a good strategy i tried somehow to take control about the fleet, to bring order into the chaos. and in my opinion it could have worked much better, but information got lost through all the spams (see above) :)


    it is hard to
    - check all participating ships (types, player skills ...),
    - thinking about "who could work best in which position",
    - reading all spams (it could be something important among them),
    - thinking about how to give the right orders (not in your mothers tongue),
    - write those orders (if possible in correct english),
    - controling if players obey them (if not: repeat what u have just written),
    - answer many questions and finally
    - flying the ship into the right direction and maybe kill some Dooms (and exactly this is the only point valid for all players, while the points above is mostly in one players responsibility).
    really, it is very hard work. and this happened not only once since the composition of our fleet changed several times.


    but all in all, it was a good event. we had 2 new players participating in it and i'm sure they and most other really enjoyed it :)

  • No control was partially my fault, since I did write tons of useless stuff into chat and one time left the formation to aid the first group.


    As about cargo carriers, I think we had Wanderer on a train, Mercenaro on an Apophis freighter, Denne and Requiem on Antareses. I later brought in my own Antares to replace the cargo lost to sabotage, and Wanderer brought his own miner full of Optronics. Dark and Destructor were on battleships, the rest were VHFs of different types, these people I know for sure:
    Boyster and blu - Ceptyr
    FLorien - Devil
    pokeycarp5737 - Chimera
    germes - Iguana? The bugged installation has taken him out early :(
    Sobieski - Venom Mk II?
    Yours truly - guess for yourself ;)
    I don't remember what other pilots (in particular Puzar and Tribbs) used.
    And later Denne switched to a train and AZ09 tagged along with his Ragnarok (after the core was dropped and my group escorted Wanderer's train full of artifacts).


    Also, if you didn't forget those Super Alloys I wouldn't have to fly through Ryssk and Mepther solo in a fully loaded Antares. And for me that was probably one of the most fun parts of the whole event.


    And once I jumped in you could have a battleship. I had at least 2 battleships logged off in space in Jormdar. Still I ended up doing more good in the Stranger.

  • Tbh, I don't think participants could try and go for a full 3 days


    You should have seen it back when we did alot of those expeditions, now those were fun. Everyone knew what they were to do, who to help, what ship to be in etc. It was organized chaos, and was fun across multiple days of the event.(except for that one time when i nearly got blown up by a friendly BS torp.) All in all, the main thing to bring from this is to analyze what went wrong and how, and to build upon those mistakes so it doesnt happen again.

  • Mistakes always will happen ... many different reasons. For bigger operations is good have printed system maps with marked route (possibly use rep.buoys). And is good to have 1-2 pilots prepared in advance which will go helping ppl in troubles. Main core of group should ideally move quickly with low delays to designated 'regroup' points. (Rep.buoys, next system entry). ... and btw: no one operation, started for a 1st time, worked smoothly (what I remember). Keep it going, use smaller groups and repeat. Nice idea this whole operation!
