solar eclipse in Sol system on 20.03.15

    Hi folk,


    Unbelivable but there will be a solar eclipse on 20.03.15 in Sol System.
    Solar eclipse means when moon is between Sol-3 and local star :D


    I wounder about this news because planets and moons are not move in Freelancer! :D

    even when planets and moons dont move you can have solar eclipses. then your point of view just has to move :)


    I read about big problems for the power plants and the power grid because of heavy peaks when the eclipse reduces the power output of solar plants as soon the sun hides behind the moon and after the eclipse when the sun appears again. Cause it happens usually when big power consumers are still online and need that power to produce and keep the production running.


    Having green energy also has disadvantages, but the power supplier had more than one year to prepare their grids and software and management to overcome this situation. However we just can hope that a blackout wont come :) We have some coal and nuclear power plants as backup tho :D

    power problems are overrated


    fact is when there is crap day outside you nearly have the same light conditions... next to that is the power consumption during that time not so high

    @NucNuc: Don't be so sad! Every generation got its own disease (good song :-)!). There were conflics and stupid politicians every time in human history. Hey, who knows: may be we will have an human conflict and stupid politicians on Mars soon, too! :)

    So, that was solar eclipse today.


    I found some impression for all who can't see se today:


    Billion of human enjoyed se even they couldn't see it.

    And last but not least: best location to see a se is on mountains. Because you are closer to event you need special se glasses: Bild4.jpg


    So, next total solar eclipse wil be in Germany in 2081! Im will celebrate my 110st. birthday in this year! Hope I will meet you all at this event again!
