Memory Leak??

  • Just something I have noticed since DR came out and wondering if someone else has noticed this too. When I play for more than an hour, the game starts to suffer from a memory leak that almost makes mostly ground maps jumpy and unplayable. This is not happening to much in space, but still noticeable.
First I thought it's my laptop, but this doesn't happen in other games, only with STO. Exiting the game and then launching it again seems to fix it temporarily until it happens again an hour or so later.

  • have you checked your installation?
verify your files when you launch the game

I generally notice performance drops... and massive lag at the weekend (sundays)

Only dead fish swim with the stream.
Don't discuss with idiots. They only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience there.

    This is ten percent luck,
    Twenty percent skill,
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will,
    Five percent pleasure,
    Fifty percent pain,
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!

  • I may uninstall and re-install STO and see if that makes a difference.

  • all you have to do is to verify your installation

  • Did that and everything seems to be in order. I'm going to upgrade my HDD and memory next weekend as I'm running out of space, so I need to install it from scratch anyway. Hopefully that will sort it out.
