Since yesterday I started to play a new singleplayer campagne from Mission 1 to the end, will i be able to play further normally where i stopped after i installed the new version 2.0 or do i have to start again with the singleplayer campagne?

As far as I know - and had been said some month ago - and follows from the advice to store your Save Games just in another folder somewhere else... YES, YOU CAN !

Crasher: there should be not problem use your saves. But bcs was things updated, I really suggest use your mission save for the first Crossfire added mission. ... you still may decide to try whole CF campaign again bcs, it all will look much nicer (compared to 1.9) ... you will see soon yourself

well done team a lot of effort and personal time you have put in to it. to op your a human being and we all make mistakes, so one slipped under the radar, i look at it this way so we roll back 6 weeks but look what we have to look forward too. new challenges and universe to explore the adrenalin comes back online . we will do like always and help those that have problem the best we can. it will all work out in the long run. the team have a lot to be proud of congratulations.

I'd like to thank the development team and congrulate us all with the remarkable event that is happening (really happening!) right now.

For anyone upset by "the bad news" part, just think what CF 2.0 release means:
- the return of many old players! \o/
- a boost in server population! \o/
- growing activity of server clans! \o/
- new graphics & content, after all! \o/

6 weeks are not such a big loss if you can now make the same progress in a far better way than before, right?

Well a long time coming, But i am sure its well worth the wait..

OP, to be honest, It wouldn't bother me at all if you did a complete char wipe, some may say " HARSH "
but for 2.0 to have a good chance in playing and working right for everyone, I personally feel a char wipe
would not only benefit YOU, Server, and new players, it also levels the playing fields on everyone...
NO Ranked level 100 players, NO Players with awesome Alien weps, NO billions in Bank.
A fresh NEW start for ALL, Besides.... thats the fun with this game, the exploring, Trading, Mining and discovering
New systems to find, But if you have it ALL..... It would tend to make it too easy for said pilots.
So Char wipe I say.

And for all the hard work and dedication that they have put into this project.
For if it wasn't for those people, This old Space Dog would have no home to go to... which is.....

We'll see if I get around joining you all in multi-player after playing through the SP campaign.

Maybe CF online is unlike other MMO's? I always get disappointed in the loss of immersion when going multi player online; a hectic non RP environment always seem to take over Thus I play with myself... eh... alone..., nope that didn't sound better... Anywho! Playing single player games has so far been the most immerseion I have gotten but I hope that will change with Crossfire!
