  • ...after some month of hard work, Guinea is relaxing on a Luxury Liner in Edinburgh. Enyoing the girls, taking some drinks and remember with a smile on the deliveries to DS17. Yes it was a long and difficult work but the brotherhood with the other Transporter and Unloaders compensated all at the end and good friends remaining.
    "I hope I can see all this good friends again some day...." was Guinea thinking as the phone rings. The incoming call was differend this time. The Dom'Kavash must be in heavy trouble and what they need is not only a delivery....they need a miracle. "Weth will be lost and the Humans too if we dont help" said the voice on the other site....and yes, he is damn right.
    Guinea is not the best pilot but he setup his Train "Guinea Pig" with some special equipement. Perfect for Inner Core missions and more survivable than expected - ready for a challenge. "Ok, count me in mate" he said, empties his glass and goes lost in thoughts to his Train.

    Also, taking down that MS wasn't much hard, just long. Cruisers, or a Warrior Mothership would be much harder (denser turret coverage).

  • “OK, here is the situation ...” Dennzio started the briefing in front of a group of experienced pilots from all over Sirius.


    Weth is closed, only the Ryssk gate is working. We have an unclear number of Dooms vessels inside Weth. Myrtrrak Battle Station has got serious damages and is about going to collapse completely. The Dom’Kavash have sent us a list of commodities and equipments they immediately need to restore their generators and for other purposes. Of course we will follow their wishes and deliver all what they need. Therefore we establish a convoy of trains and fighters. Our Comrade Ajay told us about the necessity to go without Shtora-17. This demands special tactics since our trains are for Dooms wings soft as butter in the sun. Fortunately we can ignore their battlegroups, just keep a good distance. Comrade Ajay, please.”


    Dennzio went beside to let Senior Lieutenant Ivan "Ajay" K explain the tactics.


    With strong Russian accent he started: “We ran many simulations and here is the result with the most probable success.”


    He switched some buttons and the holographic screen showed the system maps of Jormdar, Sadurn, Pyrddra and Mepther.



    Then he continued: “We don’t have enough trains to deliver all the needed equipments in only one convoy. And our calculations resulted in heavy losses, if we always take the same way to Weth and back. Therefore we have to runaround even to the Sadurn and Pyrddra systems in order to confuse our enemies.”


    Sighing and moaning raised in the briefing room.


    “I know what you think and i am neither happy to see a train convoy passing Sadurn bumping from one asteroid to the other. But the real problem is the bottleneck system Ryssk.”


    Ajay projected the Ryssk map on the holo screen



    and continued: “There is no way around. But we’ve found the best fitting solution. We have to avoid the shortest way between the Mepther and the Weth gate. Two routes seem to be secure:
    1. nearly through the center of the system between the 2 stars and in the north around planet Pichon and
    2. on the eastern side of the system we can easily hide in the cloud.


    This was about the WHERE to go. Now about the HOW. All simulations have proven that trusting our countermeasure droppers will result in losses. Therefore we will run the following strategy: all trains and freighters line up with the leading repair ship. The fighter escort will guard the convoy in free flight. Once a hostile fighter wing is on the radar within a range of 3k the convoy stops immediately while at least 4 fighters continue their flight to attack the great Doms close by. If we have more than 4 fighter crafts the remaining will stay with the convoy, just in case. It is absolutely important to neutralize enemy wings as quick as possible.”


    On the holo screen ran a computer simulation of the convoy escorted by a fighter wing acting the same way as just described.


    “All simulations have proven, that we can avoid the trains getting any scratches, if everyone works concentrated.”


    Ajay closed his presentation while Dennzio went in front of the room and said: “Thank you very much comrade. The only thing i am afraid of is a wing of Dooms gunboats. Therefore i decided to cover the operation with one Battleship. Are there any questions?”

  • so far the story. it should be clear, what we need:
    - trains
    - at least 3 fighters
    - 1 repair ship (provided by me)
    - eventually 1 BS
    since we try to make more than just one run (in fact i want to take all commodities from DS17 to Weth, we dont need them anymore, except the coffee and alcohol of course :D ), you should be prepared to switch the ships. the train pilots from the first run should also have some fun in their fighter crafts in the second run. and vice versa, fighter pilots should enjoy the train bumping in Sadurn :)

  • In short, it was fun, it was epic and it was even somewhat less of a fustercluck than I expected by the time second flight began. Everyone thanks for participating!

  • Dennzio awoke with strong headaches. Alert signals echoed like shadows through his head. Darkness became grey. Slowly it became more clear and he could realize shapes of his surrounding. Apparently he laid in a bed on a sickbay. "where ... what ..." he tried to ask. "Hi Boss!" the smiling Danzel suddenly stood beside him "it's good to see you awake, you slept for two days." Dennzio sighed and closed his eyes. What happened, he tried to remember. Like flashes he saw a battleship. 'What was its name?' Danzel continued, obviously very happy "We made it. We finished the operation. And we thought we've lost after we saw your ship exploding. But you successfully repaired (IOC)Decimator just seconds before, so we could continue. Boss, you scared us a lot. Fortunately our IOC-friends found your cockpit and it was nearly the only thing that was left of |DP|repenne. It was a good ship ..." Dennzio tried to interrupt him "Danzel, wait ... please, my headaches." "Oh sure boss. Sorry. The report can wait. You should recover and we talk later. Anyway we still wait for Ajay's return and his report about the situation in Weth." "Thank you. And please. Get me an ash-tray over here."

    The door to the briefing room opened. "Speak of the devil...", Danzel muttered as Ajay walked in. He had bags under his eyes, albeit not as large as they were a week ago, and his head was bandaged.
    "Greetings, comrades. Dennzio, I'm glad to see that you are recovering quickly", he said, "I just wish I'd got there sooner"
    "Don't beat yourself up", Dennzio replied. "Just get on with the report on situation in Weth."
    "I have recently arrived from Mirtrrak Battle Station", Ajay began, quieter than usual and holding a hand to his bandaged head from time to time - a result of a concussion caused by Emergency Warp Drive activation during the first return flight in Sadurn. "Dom'Kavash have successfully repaired all defense systems in Weth. Great Doms' forces lost the ability to warp in fresh reinforcements, while Dom'Kavash forces in Whyr and Rhuntath took this as a cue and managed to connect with the forces in Weth, after which they locked the Doms' fleets between Mirtrrak and Ryssk gate and totally annihilated them. As of now, there are no hostile contacts in Weth. Dom'Kavash are patrolling the nebula, but the gates to Whyr and Rhuntath are active again", the scout pilot managed a tiny smile. "So I suppose, we can consider this Gathering Storm averted. Good work, everyone. The operation went much smoother than I expected."
    The room was filled with sighs of relief while Ajay nodded.
    "Now excuse me, comrades, my vacation is long overdue", he said. "I'll be back in some time. The complete report and related data were uploaded to DS17 archives. Good luck to all", he said and walked away, muttering something along the lines of "Mom must be worried sick".

  • 2 Weeks later....
    Danzel sat at the bar in DS17 deep in thought.
    Dennzio entered the bar and seeing his friend sitting at a table decided to join him. Dennzio seeing the expression on Danzels face asked "Whats Up" Danzel looked up and replied "There's something on my mind that I just cannot shake" "Its about that first trip through Sudurn" said Danzel"I just keep thinking about the strange things that happened on that run in there, We had the loss of my Ragnarok, Ajay's torps doing an about turn on him, And Then the Alien battlegroup finding the trains and attacking causing the loss of |DP|Repenne. On top of all that we had Tiga go Ghost ship for a while there as well"
    Dennzio thought for a moment and said "That was a rather strange turn of events, but the other 2 trips through there went ok"
    Danzel replied "I realise that as well, but what happened on that first trip to cause all those problems?
    The Dom Kavash managed to recover the wreck of my Ragnarok and have gone over it with a fine tooth comb and cannot find anything that could have caused the wreck. It just puzzles me on what happened. One minute everything was going well, then my ship just destroyed itself and the bats and bots would not function. That seemed to be the start of our issues for that trip." Danzel continued "I really think we need to check Sudurn out again."
    Dennzio asked Danzel "Well what do you want to do about it?"
    Danzel replied "I think we need to take a flight of fighters in and have a good scout around to see if we can find anything strange in there. Maybe check around to see if there are any wrecks and if we can recover their flight recorders"
    "Ok " Says Dennzio, "See what you can arrange"
    Danzel sits and starts thinking about a plan "Gotta get Ajay in this as well, Best damn IC guy we know"
    "Good idea" Replied Dennzio
    Right," Wheres my tobacco and whiskey, Need to come up with a good plan here and try to contact some pilots to see if they will be willing to fly back into that hellhole again"

  • "Hallo Dennzio." Mercenaro, the clanleader of the Fallen clan prefers to talk in his native language.

    "Hello Merc." On intercomm Dennzio prefers to talk in interlang.

    "Dennzio, wow, what happened to your head?" Mercenaro realized the blue bulge above Dennzio's left eye.

    "Oh that's nothing. You should see Schulze's wounded leg. Merc, we should get rid of all those commodities left on Deep space 17. There is still so much left from the construction and we won't need it here anymore. I was thinking to install jetpacks on the containers and shoot them into the central star of Jormdar. Who the heck was responsible for the logistics in the construction phase?"

    "If i remember correctly, it was your clan." Mercenaro blinked his right eye.

    "Yeah i know. I should have some serious words with my people. They left too much disorder here. Now we have an increasing amount of accidents here. However, attached you find a list of the stuff we should probably take to the Dom'Kavash. Maybe they find a use for it."

    "Or maybe we wait for another better situation." Mercenaro replied.

    "Oh don't tell me about the rumours of building another base somewhere in Altair."

    "You've heard of this as well. Fine. I'm pretty sure such a base has many advantages."

    "Yeah maybe. We will see. Let me know when you have more news. Till then i try to put some order into the mess here. See you my friend."

    "Ok, see you around."
