Crossfire 2.0 - Activation

  • The activation of Crossfire 2.0 usually must be made with the Freelancer Mod Manager 1.3. So once you have finished the installation process (also detailed in FAQ) you should have a new entry in your mods list of FLMM. Before you choose to activate Crossfire 2.0 make sure no other mod is activated. If there is one activated - first deactivate it before you proceed.

    NOTE:
There is one minor thing you should be aware before you continue with the activation of the Crossfire 2.0 mod. Make sure you have full access to your freelancer installation folder - eventually remove the write protection on files and folders. It turned out that this might prevent the mod from properly activate. You are now ready to activate the mod.

In FLMM click the button "activate mod". You now will get a pop-up dialog (Choose mod options) where you are asked to choose the options Crossfire should be activated, e. g. what character you want to have, if you want to enjoy the mod in full details (high res graphics) and a lot more. Please make sure you choose wisely. Once chosen and activated you can not switch to another option easily. Mainly this means to do the whole installation and activation process again. If you confirm your selection FLMM will start to activate the mod. Depending on your PC this might take a few minutes. During this process FLMM eventually will not respond or refreshes its dialog. This is normal - you should be patient until FLMM will notify you about the proper activation or errors. In later case FLMM will not activate Crossfire 2.0 and report in its own log box the reason for the errors. Mostly this is either due to missing access rights or files that could not be copied or are missing. Unfortunate once an you witness an error you have to do the whole thing again. A clean installation of Freelancer and activation of the mod.

    So the basics steps summarized:

    • Before activating the Crossfire 2.0 mod:

      • Start the Freelancer Mod Manager 1.3
